Idaho Ebiking with Sharon | EP 3

Posted by on

Hey everybody! Welcome back to Bolton Ebikes! This is episode number 3 of the podcast.

Today we have a very special guest. She is a customer who has purchased a couple of ebikes. Probably somebody a lot like you. Whether you have purchased an ebike or you’re still considering it...I think Sharon might help you make a good decision.

So, let’s give it up for Sharon from Idaho! This is The Bolton Ebikes Podcast and I’m your host, Kyle Chittock.

On this episode you’ll learn more about:

  • What started Sharon’s passion for ebikes. It’s not what you think.
  • What helped her make an informed decision when choosing her ebike.
  • The fun places she rides in Idaho with her friends and why she prefers an ebike over her old mountain bike.
  • She shares how ebikes have helped her stay mobile.
  • The everyday tasks she does with her ebike.
  • What it feels like to ride an ebike for the first time.
  • Why Sharon likes the fat tires over regular tires.
  • What you can do to enter to win your own ebike.

Thank you so much for listening to the show. Remember to make every day an adventure, have fun, and don’t crash.

  • I’m living in Meridian Idaho I also have a Bolton FoxBat bike, looking for people who ride. Other than Green Belt,I I’m not aware of any local trails. Help I want to ride!

  • Excellent interview with Sharon. I was born and raised in Aspen, Colorado and while growing up in central Colorado in the Rocky Mountains, my siblings and I all grew up downhill and cross country skiing, snowshoeing, white water kayaking and rafting and of course bike racing.

I also spent the rest of my youth in southern Arizona after our mother decided that she didn’t want to live in the snow anymore. This was a few years after our father passed away in an accident. So after we moved to southern Arizona, I was the first kid out of five in our family (I am the second oldest) who got into bike racing in my teens, as the town where I lived at that time called Bisbee (a small copper mining town turned artist’s enclave) started hosting the International Bike Races also called La Vuelta de Bisbee. Eric Heiden and his sister Heidi who are Olympic speed skating champions would show up each year to participate in the races. As a matter of fact, a lot of speed skaters also raced bikes and we even met downhill ski racers who also participated in bike racing. I believe this is because bike racing keeps the entire body in great shape, but is also a great workout for your legs.

Anyway, it was I believe in 1978 when I was first introduced to my first Mountain Bike and it was a bit of an obsession after that. Like Sharon, I too have had many injuries over the years and after doing my research, I was lucky enough to come across Bolton Ebikes on YouTube and eventually ended up buying the Cargo Ebike, which I love, but at some point, I would also like to get my hands (and feet) on a 1,000+ watt bike.

For me, at this point, I feel like all the city riding that I do is not fully covered by the 750/1,000 watt bike that I have. The speed restriction laws on ebike here in California (possibly the entire U.S?) is ridiculous and it has caused me to seriously start thinking about getting involved in politics, obviously in the vein of changing silly laws such as these ebike speed laws.

Anyway, the podcasts you are doing are wonderful and as always, I am sharing the link to them with my siblings and friends and other folks to get an interest in alternative transportation and helping people to get away from driving lung-choking, fossil fuel-powered vehicles.
